FRIDAY FIVE: End-of-Summer Party Edition

Hallelujah for the long weekend! This may have been my last week off but it was not all sleeping in and poolside cocktails, let me tell you! But I do hope that you guys have been enjoying this week full of fun recipes and hopefully you’ll get a chance to use some of them in the next few days. My parents throw a huge Labour day party every year so I know that I’ll be using them! To wrap up this week I thought I’d forego the usual ‘Friday Five’ and instead share some of my favourite ideas from around the web to make sure that your end-of-summer bash is the best one yet. Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. DIY Flamingo Ring Toss
(via How adorable! This is a super fun game that’s a little more interesting than the classic bocce or croquet (and kids can play, too!). Bonus: it requires very little work but when you tell people you DIY’d it they’ll think you’re a chicer, cooler Martha Stewart!MS4A0557
  2. Watermelon Mojitos
(via I love mojitos and summer is the best time to enjoy them. So take advantage of this last weekend and whip up a pitcher of these babies! I don’t know why I never thought to pair watermelon and mint together as a cocktail before but it’s a winning combo. Plus it never hurts that these are seriously Instagram-worthy drinks!
  3. Fancy S’mores
(via I don’t know about you but our Labor Day party always seems to end with a fire pit and toasty marshmallows which, for the record, I’m not complaining about. But in case you wanted to kick things up a notch, check out these fancy s’mores with 3 different topping combos! Yum!
  4. DIY Tropical Photo Booth
(via It may seem a little too late to bust out a crazy DIY like this one but if you hit up Michaels, invite over some girlfriends, pop in a movie and get to work I have no doubt you could have a gorgeous photo booth in no time. And won’t it be worth it when you have the perfect place to take those last selfies with your summer tan?
  5. Epic Cheese Plate
(via What’s a party without a cheese plate, I always say. But actually, a charcuterie spread is so versatile and perfect for a party or gathering. Take a look at some of these along with the tips that Domain has included and try to recreate them! Or just take some inspiration and go your own way with it. Who knew cheese could be so creative?
