For as long as I can remember we’ve had various food magazines around my house; my grandma was subscribed to Canadian Living for a long time and my dad would often pick a few up on the weekends. I would always flip through them and look at the pictures or glance at the recipes but I never really read the articles. But this one time there was an issue of Saveur magazine and I remember reading an article about this Italian-American woman who grew up in New York and she basically talked about growing up in an Italian immigrant community and how that shaped her and her food journey and, hand to God you guys, I almost started crying. There is something about food that is just so human and hearing other people’s stories and experiences feels so connecting. Ever since then I have been an avid reader of Saveur and pretty much any food magazine I can get my hands on. Today I thought I’d share my top 5 (in no particular order) with you all!
